Barrault Pressacco

The project is located in an exceptional site on the Place Léon Gambetta. The new construction is a lifting of a preserved, fragile and typical building of Ivry’s suburban landscape. The building lays on a reinforced concrete structure that harshly crosses the facades of the existing building, thus revealing its fragility.
The plane’s geometry is an extrusion of the plot, and this extension assumes an ordinary writing, resonating with the square’s buildings. The red-tinted facade plaster comes to cover up a hemp concrete lining, which is projected on a CLT wood superstructure.
