The new building is part of a heterogeneous and picturesque fabric: a Parisian suburb. Living in this density requires engaging in formal and typological measures capable of offering future inhabitants the qualities of use, comfort, and privacy necessary for their daily lives. On the street side, terraced penthouses affirm the building’s position along the corner; on the opposite side, the volume of the project generates successive setbacks and forms a small extension to the existing inner courtyard. These setbacks create both corner conditions for future dwellings, and significant openings for neighbouring buildings. The facade expresses this condition and shifts a regular composition towards the corner. The combination of a stone facade and an internal timber structure ensures sustainability and environmental awareness. A layout that is mindful of the project’s economy generates a regular and rational façade that integrates the project in its suburban context.
